NEW YORK (AP) — Aliyah Boston has been the consensus No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft all season. The Indiana Fever, who own the top choice, just had to wait for the South Carolina star to make it official she was going to enter this year’s draft. Boston had the chance to return to South Carolina for her COVID season, but opted to enter Monday night’s draft instead.“I think Aliyah Boston is a legitimate first pick option,” Fever general manager Lin Dunn said on a conference call. “I’ve watched her play very closely this year. Her size, her basketball IQ, her character, her leadership skills. She just brings an enormous amount to the table, and I really think she’s going to have — whether she’s picked first, second or third, she’s going to have an immediate impact on this league.”Boston was a three-time All-America selection and earned AP Player of the Year honors in 2022 as a junior. LONDON (AP) — West Ham celebrated a first away win since August in the English Premier League thanks to a Fulham own goal on Saturday. The Hammers were thrashed by Newcastle 5-1 midweek but recovered to win 1-0 at Craven Cottage in a low-quality affair settled by Harrison Reed’s unfortunate first-half moment. Not since a victory at Aston Villa in their second away game had the travelling West Ham fans been able to celebrate three points — although history was on their side here, having won more away fixtures against Fulham than any other league team. Those supporters, though, still lambasted manager David Moyes with chants of “You don’t know what you’re doing,” during the second half.Victory lifted West Ham three points above the drop zone.Fulham has lost four league games in a row as hopes of European qualification continue to drift.Coach Marco Silva, watching from high up in Craven Cottage’s new Riverside Stand after being hit with a two-game ban following his red card at...Survival at Masters as Rahm stays close and Woods makes cut

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — No one had an easier time Saturday morning at the Masters than Brooks Koepka. He didn’t have to play, and he still had the lead going into a cold, soggy and brutally difficult weekend at Augusta National.Jon Rahm did remarkably well to stay close. Tiger Woods managed to survive, tying the Masters record by making the cut for the 23rd consecutive time.Cameron Young summed it for some three dozen players who were forced to handle the rain, the cold and a course that played longer than it ever has.“It’s basically impossible,” Young said. “I really don’t know what you’re supposed to do.”Rahm played the entire back nine in severe conditions and finished off a 3-under 69 to get within two shots of Koepka, who was among the fortunate to get his second round out of the way on Friday before the bad weather moved in and changed everything.Temperatures dipped below 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius). Nick Foligno is not quite ready to play big boy hockey just yet. But where he is now compared to where he thought he might be after being injured in Calgary on February 28 had the Bruin veteran thrilled after he finished up another on-ice session on Saturday.“I feel great. I think for me, everyone gets exited, myself included, being out there. It was a pretty significant injury that I had,” said Foligno. “It’s a credit to our medical staff, therapist Scott Waugh, that I’m a little further along than we were probably expecting. There’s no real timetable. It’s just a matter of me feeling as good as I need to feel. When that time comes, we’ll know when I’m ready. It’s hard, because you see me out there skating but I’m still working toward feeling as good as I can for the team when I want to come back and step in. That’s all we’re focused on. As much as I’d like to be out there, and dying to be out there, I’ve got t...Officer Cottontail? Bunny joins California police force. Fur real.
